Roses from my house. I planted these rose bushes about 10 years ago when we first bought our house. I was out of work for 3 months in the Spring of 2001 and before the chaos of planning a wedding and nail school began I gardened, a lot. I have since abandoned all my plants but these tiny rose bushes keep going! The flowers are about the size of my thumb but boy are they beautiful.
Have a great day! It is finally summer here in NY so I am going to be playing outside with my 2 year old :-)

What a sweet story - how you've maintained these special roses through the years! My Dad has a way with roses as well and always managed to plant a bush wherever we have lived - and they seemed to flourish without a lot of maintenance.
ReplyDeleteOur little ones are now the same ages - I can't believe your daughter is already TWO!
I love the delicate shape of your rose, thanks for sharing. Hope it smells as good as it looks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rose! I love the colors and it sounds so tiny. Enjoy your day with your 2 year old!
ReplyDeleteRoses are something I have never tackled.... this one has some lovely colors to it. Have a great day of play!!
ReplyDeleteLovely ! I used to garden a lot before the kids came too! I am hoping we get a few days without rain!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of this rose! It looks so delicate.
ReplyDeleteI just love the smell of roses and how velvety delicate their petals are… So happy they've made it 10 years. It's nice to have plants that have a history.
ReplyDeleteI wish I liked to garden. . .I do love flowers so much. However, the flowers in my yard are the ones our yard guys picked out. They didn't do to bad a job. Of course, I'm sure they would mean a lot more to me if they had a great story behind them like yours do!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to stop by and thank you for your sweet comment on my Artisan Clay post and to leave you a link to Margie and Me: http://labellajoya.blogspot.com/2011/05/margie-and-me-sobe-style.html
ReplyDeleteIt's basically a color challenge that I do once a month just to keep things interesting around here! Anyone can join and I'd love to see what you would create with the colors! Have a great week!
Coming in late, as usual ;) Love the rose...and feel you completely on the gardening issues! Time is killer, isn't it?
