About Me

I am Shannon Chomanczuk and I design jewelry for women who want to be effortlessly stylish.
You need jewelry that expresses your unique personality, tells a story, and is simple and durable enough to wear everyday.
That is where I come in.
As an artist and metalsmith I am drawn to the form and function of things but as a busy mother of two and entrepreneur, I'm constantly thinking about the wearability, durability, and simplicity of each piece of jewelry I create.
Whether it is a bracelet to symbolize your life's journey, a birthstone necklace with a crystal representing each of your children, a tiny circle pendant to commemorate a loss, or a swingy, fun pair of earrings "just because." I know you will find the perfect piece of jewelry that helps tell your story and that you will never want to take it off.
About me:
1998 - I received my Bachelors Degree in Communications and Graphic Design from Marist College.
2001 - I married my husband and received a license to practice Nail Specialty in New York State.
2002 - I opened my own beauty salon, A Polished Image. In my free time I created beaded jewelry which I sold in my salon.
2009 - After a difficult pregnancy we welcomed our precious little miracle, Emily. A colicky baby, Emily kept us up at night for over 10 months!
2010 - I was happy to finally get some sleep and after over a year away from jewelry making I dove back in head first. I learned how to etch metal, and to comfortably use a torch. I even started a blog, For My Sweet Daughter.
2011 - One of my bracelets was featured on the cover of Bead Trends magazine.
2012 - I was chosen to be Bead Trend's featured designer for the month of July. They chose 8 of my designs to feature in the issue.
2013 - After another difficult pregnancy and pretty scary delivery we welcomed our second little miracle, Eden. A feisty baby, Eden certainly kept us on our toes!
2014 - After more than 15 months off I was excited to get back to making jewelry again. I designed a brand new collection based on a sketch I drew on a napkin in the hospital. I rebranded and changed my business name to, Emily and Eden, to honor my daughters.
2015 - I have had the pleasure of being featured in Cupcake Magazine, on Tori Spelling's blog, as a Momma Must-Have on The Baby Burp.
2016 - Present - My oldest daughter, Emily, is now in third grade. As a homeschooling mother I found out just how difficult it is to juggle homeschooling, motherhood, salon ownership, and making jewelry. I took some time off from blogging and my shop to be teacher, and mother. I closed my salon in fall 2017 and am now working part time in a beautiful salon in New Windsor, NY. This leaves me time to create, blog, homeschool, and play with our two girls, two dogs, two bunnies, and cat.

My latest creations are inspired by my daughters. Watching them grow, play and learn is a constant source of inspiration. Their love of nature & wide-eyed enjoyment for life motivates me to create jewelry that is beautiful, wearable, and holds special meaning.
My jewelry starts out as a simple piece of recycled metal wire which is then bent, cut, and forged into shape. The raw, organic style and handmade nature makes each piece one-of-a-kind and unique to the wearer.

I love Instagram and post there almost daily, so you should follow me over there!
My blog is where you will find outfit inspiration, news about new pieces I am working on, and a bit of family stuff thrown in because, well, I'm a mom.
