I found an amazing porcelain artist named Nancy Schindler while searching www.etsy.com one day and I have been dying to buy some of her things. I finally broke down and ordered from her shop

I am in love with the piece I made from one of her components, it is called Renewal.
I love the symbolic meaning behind the peacock which from the research I found could apply to any faith, belief or religion (see below).
I chose to use the word renewal because of a sense of starting anew as we head into fall. I love fall, the cool crisp air, the color palate, sweaters.
I am starting fall anew, I have put items in my online shop, I am ordering new business cards, hang tags and signs. I got new furniture for my living room. I am embracing (sort of) my new heavier body by finally buying a couple of new outfits. I just resigned a 3 year lease at my salon. I am going to start doing home jewelry parties. We are working on converting my garage into a jewelry studio.
Whew, I am busy aren't I? It's great, I love to have things in the works, things to look forward to.
What do you love about fall? What is your favorite season and why?
Wishing you a happy fall....
Symbolic meaning of the peacock
http://www.symbolic-meanings.com/2007/08/17/symbolic-meaning-of-peacocks/ (from here)In general, the Peacock is representative of glory, immortality, royalty, and incorruptibility. It is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty that can be achieved when we
endeavor to better ourselves and better our lives.
In history, myth, legend & lore, the peacock is considered an
emblem of protection, nobility, watchfulness, guidance, and holiness.
In Greco-Roman mythology the Peacock is identified with Hera (Juno) who created the peacock from Argus whose hundred eyes
(seen on the tail feathers of the peacock) symbolize the vault of heaven and the “eyes” of the stars who watch all life unfolding .
In Christianity the peacock represents the “all-seeing” church and the holiness & sanctity associated with it. Additionally, the peacock represents resurrection, renewal and immortality within the spiritual teachings of Christianity.
In Hinduism the peacock is associated with Lakshmi who is a deity
representing benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and luck.
Similar to Lakshmi, the peacock is associated with Kwan-yin in Japan – she is also an emblem of love, compassionate watchfulness, good-will, nurturing, and kind-heartedness. Kwan-yin chose to remain a mortal even though she could be immortal because she wished to stay behind and aid humanity in their
spiritual evolution.
In Babylonia and Persia the peacock is seen as a guardian to royalty, and is often seen in engravings upon the thrones of royalty.

Aren't Nancy's things just gorgeous? I keep going to her shops and filling my cart, then get distracted enough where I never actually order anything! I love your necklace, it's so pretty and serene.
Thanks Lori, you are so sweet.
Thanks Holly, you really should order something from one of her store updates. I love to treat myself to a few of her pieces when she does a shop update. Thanks so much for the compliment!
