Finally Friday

Hello Finally Friday!

I have a couple things I wanted to share with you today.

First is my friend Lorelei Eurto has made her ebook Asymmetry Made Easy available for purchase.
At only $15.00 this is a fabulous buy.
I received my copy the other day and read the whole thing in one sitting. Which is great for me because I have a 2 year old and my attention span is that of a gnat. Don't give me a lot of fluff our you'll loose me.
Lorelei gets right to the point in this book.
She explains how size, texture and balance make a difference in making asymmetrical jewelry.
Then, and this was my favorite part, she talk about working in 3's. I have always tried to work in odd numbers because it just seemed right.
From there she talks about transitioning, tips, impressions, eclectic mixes and finally her diagram.
Her diagram was priceless for creating the necklace I am going to share with you today.
I used the techniques from her book to create this necklace which is out of my comfort zone totally.
I am no stranger to asymmetry although I have never pushed it this far.
If you get a chance I strongly recommend Lorelei's book. For what you would spend on lunch you can get an inside look on how to successfully create one of a kind asymmetrical looks that will have your customers and friends saying wow!
Visit Lorelei's blog to purchase your copy now.

Finally Friday 4/6/2012
here is the inspiration photo from last week from Design Seeds

Here is the necklace I made using this palette for color inspiration
and Lorelei's book for technique inspiration:

I started with these pink lucite beads from my super awesome delivery of vintage lucite the other day.
I connected them with 15mm jump rings from Vinatj Natural Brass which I embellished with seed beads.
Love this Gaea bead :-)

I added a Gaea heart and more vintage lucite beads.

A key from Nina Designs finished the back off nicely.

I used a beautiful purple Marsha Neal Studio pendant, a few beads from Gaea, vintage lucite beads in blues, pink and purple. The maroon bead in the front was in a destash lot I was fortunate to score so I have no clue what it is.

What do you think?

Now for next weeks inspirational palette:

Your necklace is beautiful! I've been absent from blogger for a bit, so I didn't know about your Finally Friday's Challenges. Not sure I can do one every week, but I'm going to try for next week. That is such a great palette, but of course, all their palettes are! Have a blessed Easter!

Love the color palette for next week. I'm going to have to play along, maybe not every week, but when I can!

Hi Shannon, what a great piece for this week's Finally Friday. I didn't get to post this last Friday, but I'm hoping to this week. I'll have to check out the book, too. Sounds interesting.
